What damages your house wire- heat, rodent, or more?

Extreme heat and hot summers is not the only enemy of house wire exporters. There are several things that are responsible for damaging the insulation of electrical wiring. A normal wire may have a small area where the metal wire is exposed or has frayed or is damaged from over-heating. In this article, exporters bring the types of damages happen to your house wires due to certain reasons.

Attic temperatures can pose a serious threat to electrical wiring if your house roof is dark in color, the heat buildup in the attic can be just intolerable. It is such an awful thing for your home wires as they need to perform in this superheated weather every day.

High temperature and heat never damage the copper conductors of the wire. These conductors have great temperature resistance but the issue is with the plastic coating or sheathing jacket that surrounds the wire. Manufacturers rate these plastic jacketing wire cables to withstand up to 194 degrees Fahrenheit. If your place is having more temperature then these products are not recommended for you.

There are two factors behind the heating up of the wire. One is the heat in the surrounding, or air and other is the electrical current passing through the wires.  In case the wires are buried in attic insulation, pass over light fixtures, or even the worse, are arranged in tight bundles, the temperature gets higher if they are out in the open air.

There may be a small area where the metal wire is exposed. Or wire has frayed insulation that is falling off or the damaged wire from over-heating.

Nicked wiring

Nicked insulation is caused by a wire being pulled across the sharp metal conduit edge after installation. When experts found any nicked wire, they merely tape over the area with electrical tape to prevent metal wire contact with another piece of metal wiring, metal conduit, or metal box. But there are electricians that replace the damaged section of the wiring.

Rodent attack is also a risk. Rodents such as squirrels and mice may chew the insulation of wire that results in exposing the bare metal wire. You must fix these areas and perform a rodent control program to prevent rodent attack in future.

Frayed or deteriorated insulation is also a damaged insulation. Older homes may have wires with damaged or frayed insulation. It is a safety concern and you must address it. If you are having older home and haven’t replaced wiring for years, you must check them because your tube wiring, or rubber insulated wires are subject to having damaged insulation.

Electrician can repair the frayed wire easily and instantly. The frayed areas are not really big.Do remember that UL doesn’t list electrical tape as a sheathing product for electrical wire. You can even perform heat shrink tubing method to fix the insulation of the damaged wire at home.

Heat shrink tubing is a special plastic designed for repairing a damaged wire. It shrinks up when you apply heat to it. Professionals use a butane heat torch with this tubing; however, old wiring’s insulation jacket is flammable, so you can even use hair dryer on “high” mode. Hair dryer option is time consuming, but it works well.

You can get the heat shrink tubing from house wire manufacturers in distinct sizes.

Are You Sure Elevator Cables are Safe and Never Broke?

f:id:ultracabwire:20160426163203j:plain

Ever seen an action movie in which a hero gets in an elevator, but the villain of the story cuts the elevator cables? But that's a reel part. Does it happen in real as well? Fortunately not! Elevators have multiple safety features and this kind of stuff never happens.

Every cable elevator system includes steel cables that are bolted to the car loop over a sheave. This sheave is a pulley having a grooved rim surface and it is located at the top of the elevator shaft. The grooves of the sheave grip the steel cables. So, when the electric motor rotates the sheave of the cable elevator system, cables move simultaneously.

The cables used for lifting the car are connected to a counterweight hanging down on the other side of the sheave.

Manufacturers produce each elevator cable using several lengths of steel material wound around one another. These cables are rarely snap and supervisors make checks for wear and tear. But you should know that the steel cable can break and you may wonder what would happen next.

Majority of pulley elevators have multiple cables between four and eight total. So, when any cable snapped, other cables would hold the elevator car up. Moreover, just single cable is enough to do it.

Don't bother jumping
At times you may hear that you need to jump instantly prior the elevator crashes, so you would be “floating” at the second of impact. Do you think it will work? Don't be a fool. It won't help you and will hurt you instead.

Have you heard of hybrid flat elevator cables yet? These are reaching to the market.

Hybrid flat elevator cable has copper control wires, optical fibers and copper telecom wires. Optical fibers are new addition and soon these products will be available across the globe.

To get reliable elevator cables at decent prices, contact Ultra Cab professionals today. They are dealing in industrial cables and wires for very long time. You can avail best wiring solutions from Ultra Cab experts.

How Elevator Cables Assure Safety In Case of Fall?

Everything is changes very rapidly due to the enhanced and vast technology. Technology is so vast that everyone is growing with the use of technology. Stares are the old trend but now due to the demand of the society elevators become a very new trend. They are famous from 150 years and growing day by day. Society demands a lot of elevators in their general life to avoid stares due to one or other reasons. Elevator cables are more often using of different and reputed brands. These cables are made up of hard elements like steel and others. They must have to be strong enough to manage the stress.

Most commonly two types of elevators are used around us. One is hydraulic and the other is cable elevators. Hydraulic elevators work with a liquid flow. If liquid is removed from their phenomenon of hydraulic elevators then this becomes impossible to work. A liquid is filled in the elevators, when we like to move up then liquid start filling in the opposite direction and elevators move in the upper direction. But if we like to move down then liquid start refilling and elevators move in the downward direction.

Cable elevators are more commonly used in the society then hydraulic elevators. But cable elevators are considered not good in the case of safety measures. There are always some bad impacts considered thanks to holly wood movies. This is not a truth because there are many safety measures included in the elevators cable. More than seven cables are used in these elevators to avoid any type of accidents. Many other safety purposes are also used in the direction of risks. So if you have any type of fear with the elevators then just forget about it. They have more concentration then you while doing their jobs in a very well way.  To know more on elevator cables range and custom solutions, please contact to prominent electric power cables supplier.

Insulator Types Available For Power Cable

We all have heard about resistance often used by the power cable manufacturers while making power cables and conductor materials. Low frequency signals and high frequency signal both exist in the center of conductor and surface of conductors respectively. High signal frequency is focused in small area while other portion exists with low frequency signals. Amplification of effective resistance in the cables is very important. These types of frequencies face many types of losses so we must have to increase the insulation materials while making such types of products. If frequency lies around 20 kHz then there may happened some skin effects which are not good for anyone.

By name of insulators we can understand that that it is a material which put a little bit of resistance during the flow of current in the material. Electric current flowing through the conducting material can cause a leakage several times. It is necessary to control this leakage and insulators in the power cable. This will resist the electric current and then it can flow by preventing from contacting to the surface of conductors. Several environments threats can cause due to the leakage of current from the wires like water and heat.

So safety is the first treatment we can take to avoid such types of threats and accidents. Insulation can be a real treatment for the leakage of currents so the cable of the conducting material must have to provide real insulating technique. There are many different types of insulating materials are present in the market. Some of them are as follows like rubber, plastic, polymers of fluorine group like Fluoropolymer, etc. Electric properties of the conducting materials depend upon the insulation and it can be influenced by power cable manufacturers with some other significant techniques. High frequency cable needs PE while other needs some rubber or polymer insulations.
